API requests were slow for about two hours and some workflow outputs failed to save. A single client sent a preview request in a tight loop, and each request triggered expensive work that used up the API servers' CPU.

The API was unavailable for about 10 minutes. A set of inefficient database queries stalled the API servers and responses slowed sharply.
An issue during a deployment stopped the API from responding until it was resolved.
